Where? Where, is it, exactly? Please point me to the canonical work of feminism that, once pointed, that everyone in the feminist sphere can agree on is the fine education.
Or, hey, point me at the definitive tutorial on homosexuality. Or, yes, the canonical definition on "the black experience."
The point is that you hand-wave this step and make it sound like, "Hey, this information is easily available!" but I betcha you'd go nuts if someone came in and said, "I got my info on homosexuality from Pat Robertson!" Or even, "My take on feminism? All from this Ayn Rand group here!"
The point is that all the material is not out there, at least in any way that one person has a hope in hell of picking up on what you'd consider the "proper" material without interacting with one of these people whose job is not to educate them.
I respect an individual's right to want to not educate. It's certainly exhausting to all the time, and hey, it's not for everyone. But I cannot respect the right for any group as a whole to not want to educate, because if not, then ignorance propagates and people get the wrong information.
