There's no essentially about it. That's exactly what I said. I suppose if a group were small enough it might be possible to prove this, but a marginalized minority is not likely to be a group with sufficiently few individuals for this to be possible.
That's a side issue, though. My main point was, and is, that yes, we all need to learn things in order to be better citizens; but the groups best equipped to teach us a lot of the things we need to know don't actually owe us their time and effort. It's a conundrum, and not a comfortable one, but there you go.
